Yes he is sinister and corrupted and leads the life as an arch super villian. But looking back at his past one can not help
but feel sorry for Ocky. Doc Ock had a very unpleasant childhood. He was the reclusive, anti-social, bookish type, which made
him the perfect subject for a routine bullying from his fellow classmates. But the ridicule and humuilation did not stop at
the school yard. The minute little Otto stepped foot inside his own home, he had to face the wrath of his overbearing father
Torbert Octavius, who was the last person you would want to go for comfort.
He did gain some sympathy from his mother Mary who was very protective of him and would always defend little Otto against
her husbands abuse.

Fortunately Mary Octavius got her wish when Otto graduated at the top of his class. He then proceeded to graduate school and
helped support his mother along the way. After graduate school he quickly established his genius in the field of nuclear research
and eventually came to work at the US Atomic Research Center.
His co-workers did not think fondly of him because he was rude, arogant, and aloof toward anyone he considered subordinate
to himself. however Octavius did manage to meet some one at the center who didnt hate him, a woman named Mary Alice Anders.
Infact the two fell deeply in love and Octiavus asked Miss Anders to be his wife. When he told his mother she refused to allow
him to go through with the marraige, claiming he was going to abandon her, so he immediately called it off. For the next few
weeks he was excrutiating to his co-workers. He often average twenty-hour workdays.
One day he came home early to find his mother going out on a date. He screamed at her, yelling, "If you can enjoy a social
life, why couldn't I? Why did I have to break up with Mary Alice?! Wasn't I entitled to a little happiness?!" His tirade
ended in his mother having a heart attack.
Shortly after that Octavius met with the horrible accident that transformed him into the infamous Doctor Octopus
